Response to Hi Rob, If you currently have the B129 motor on your Hayward Super II then you can down to a B127 Replacement Motor which has a true HP of 1.13. If you go this route you would need to replace your impeller with this 1 HP Super II Impeller. The reason for needing the new impeller is your 2 HP impeller would overwork this motor. When replacing your motor we would also suggest this Hayward Super II Tune Up Kit. If you wanted to go dual speed you would need this Dual Speed Replacement Motor along with the same impeller and seal kit suggested earlier. The smaller HP will have a lower output of water so if you have spa jets or solar then you may want to stay with the larger HP.
