Response to Hi Derek, It is possible to replace your motor with a 3 HP and replace the impeller and diffuser to 3 HP but you may have issues with going with such a large ,pump. Normally for a 10,000-gallon pool you could use a 3/4 or 1 HP pump. Some of the issues with going with a pump this large are... 2" pipe can only accommodate 120 GPM and the 3 HP will exceed 120 GPM so you will not be getting the full capacity of this pump with using 2" pipe, the 3 HP is expensive to operate, finally you need to make sure your filter can handle the output of the pump which would be in the 120-150 GPM Range. You should have a label on the side of your filter which says max GPM. If you decide this is the route you want to go let us know and we can give you the part #'s for the impeller and diffuser.
