Response to The o-ring is in place and provides a water seal due to suction when the pump is running. When not running the o-ring provides no capability to hold the float valve in place and it easily lifts off. When the pump stops running the float valve lifts off and invariably gets cocked at an angle. This happens mostly when the pool water level is low which is exactly when I need the float valve the most to protect the pump. Is a weight or some other method available to hold the float valve in place?
